What a weekend at the Costa Brava Rally!

After three demanding days of competition, Osian Pryce and Dale Furniss brought the Ford Escort Mk2 RS1800 FIA compliant car home an impressive 7th Overall, 1st in Class and 1st in Category — a fantastic result in a very strong and competitive field.

Thursday and Friday brought particularly serious conditions, with heavy rain making the already challenging stages even tougher. Despite the difficult weather, the crew delivered a superb and consistent performance throughout the event.

We’re extremely proud to see the Escort, powered by our Wales Motorsport BDG engine, performing so strongly against a field of very competitive and more modern historic cars. Seeing the car deliver both performance and reliability across such a demanding rally is exactly what these builds are all about.

Having the car perform on the European stage, Costa Brava was also a brilliant experience for everyone involved. Events like this showcase historic rallying at its very best, with incredible roads, passionate fans and a truly international entry list.

After such a successful trip to mainland Europe, there’s every chance the car may make more appearances at rallies across Europe in the future.
